Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) is an international day of advocacy that showcases the undeniable value that business meetings, trade shows, incentive travel, exhibitions, conferences and conventions bring to people, businesses and communities. Our theme this year is Meet Safe.
Here’s how to prepare:
We have created a few resources to help you plan your GMID event.
We urge all GMID event hosts to base their planning decisions on information from local public health authorities, continuing to embrace hybrid and virtual events as mandated. Industry professionals based in the U.S. should also refer to MMBC’s online Reopening Tracker – updated regularly with the latest state-by-state requirements.
As an industry, we believe raising the bar to meet health and safety standards is a necessity, not an option. We are committed to doing the right thing, the right way. We are proud of ways our industry has led the charge, as early adopters of the measures required to carry forward safe in-person business meetings and hybrid events. We remain uncompromising in our commitment to ensuring the safety of every meeting attendee.
Successful in-person meetings are possible and taking place today, in accordance with local protocols and safety regulations. GMID 2021 will spotlight the protocols and best practices employed by industry professionals across the U.S. as well as key destinations globally.
In places where in-person meetings are not currently permitted, we encourage individuals and organizations to join hybrid and virtual events. We also encourage social media participation using #GMID21 and #MMBMeetSafe.
