Orange County Convention Center and Centerplate Start "Feed the Need" Campaign

While the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando is closed, the Centerplate team – led by sustainability director Molly Crouch – is playing its part to support the local Central Florida region and making sure that its onsite hydroponic gardens are being put to good use. The team has been donating the produce that is still growing at the gardens to local community partners and will continue to do so for the indefinite future. This is the result of a partnership with the 4 Rivers Smokehouse – a local BBQ eatery in Florida – and the Florida Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Service Program

The resulting “Feed the Need Florida” campaign is working to fill the gaps and ensure that Orange County Public School students and their families throughout Orlando have access to nutritious meals during the global pandemic.
